Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 June 2026
This policy explains how Ocean Proxies ("Ocean Proxies", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit oceanproxies.com, create an account, or purchase and use our proxies. We handle your information in line with UK data protection law, namely the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
By using our site and services you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the site.
1. Who we are
Ocean Proxies is a provider of premium UK ISP proxies, operated by a private limited company registered in England and Wales.
- Registered company: [TBC - registered company name]
- Registered office: [TBC - registered address]
- Company number: [TBC]
- Contact: [TBC - support inbox]
For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the "controller" of your personal data.
2. What data we collect
We only collect what we need to run and secure the service.
Account data
When you register we collect your email address, a username and any profile details you choose to provide, along with your account balance and order history.
Payment data
Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor. We receive confirmation of a successful payment and a transaction reference, but we do not see or store your full card details or wallet credentials.
Technical & usage data
We collect limited technical information needed to operate the network: your IP address, browser and device details, dashboard activity, and proxy authentication logs (such as which credentials connected and when). This is used to deliver the service, enforce fair use, prevent fraud and abuse, and meter usage.
Support & correspondence
If you contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence so we can respond and improve the service.
3. Why we use your data (legal basis)
- Performance of a contract - to provision your proxies, manage your account, and process your orders.
- Legitimate interests - to keep the network secure, detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and improve our service.
- Consent - for optional analytics. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legal obligation - to meet tax, accounting and other statutory record-keeping requirements.
4. Who we share your data with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the providers that help us run Ocean Proxies, and only as far as they need it:
- Payment processor - handles checkout and billing.
- Hosting & infrastructure providers - serve the site and the proxy network.
- Communication tooling - used for support and account notifications.
We may also disclose data where required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business restructure.
5. International data transfers
Some providers are based outside the UK. Where data is transferred outside the UK we rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the International Data Transfer Addendum to the Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep your data
- Account data - while your account is active and up to 12 months after closure.
- Payment & billing records - 6 years, as required by UK tax law.
- Technical & proxy logs - short rolling windows, typically 30 to 90 days.
- Support correspondence - up to 2 years after the issue is resolved.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Ask us to restrict or object to how we use your data.
- Ask us to transfer your data to another provider.
- Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [TBC - support inbox]. We'll respond within one month. If you believe we've mishandled your data you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege access for staff and contractors. No online service is ever completely secure, but we treat your data with care.
9. Children
Ocean Proxies is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from under-18s.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves or the law changes. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
11. Contact
